Jessica Salema

Salon owner Jessica Salema loves helping make clients' hair dreams come true. Before moving to the island ten years ago, she trained and worked in Vancouver. Highlights of her career are opening her own salon and working the runway for Versace's first show in Vancouver Fashion Week. Jessica believes continuous learning is essential and has travelled as far as London to further her education.

When Jessica isn't behind her chair, she is chasing around her energetic daughter, Ella. Supermom, Jessica, balances raising a child, running a salon and creating beautiful hair.

Jessica’s Cabello Goal: To create an urban relaxing atmosphere for clients, and a creative supportive work environment for stylists to learn and produce artistic hair.

Tina

Cabello Salon is honoured to have Tina join the team! Recently Tina has moved from Winnipeg. As an award winning hairstylist and former salon owner, she brings extensive knowledge and over 20 years of industry experience. Highlights of her career include owning an eight chair salon, multiple Sassoon certifications and competing in several hair competitions. She enjoys bridal hairstyling and has worked behind the scenes in multiple wedding fashion shows.

Tina enjoys art in all forms and in her free time she is a painter. She is a mom to an elderly pug named Bonsai. She loves to form deep personal connections with her clients while helping them achieve their hair goals.

Chynna

Chynna has been creating beautiful hair in the Westshore since 2013. She’s always excited about precision hair cutting, razor work, shags, and curly hair. She loves blonding and lived-in colour.

Chynna is passionate about transformations that allow your natural wave and curl patterns to elevate your style, with minimal styling at home! That said, she always digs a big bouncy blow out…

When she’s not in the Salon, Chynna enjoys reading, spending time outdoors, making jewelry, and learning to roller skate.

Chynna’s Cabello Goal: To show her clients the true potential of their hair, no matter the colour or texture.

Gillian

Stylist & Colourist

Oh what a world of difference a Curly hair specialist will make, and shall we say an expert in color corrections and blondes?

Gillian has come to our salon as a 24 year stylist, previous salon owner and curl specialist she lends hand to her guests to embrace natural texture patterns while dry cutting skillfully to ensure your finished result is executed to perfection. Her many years apprenticing young stylists and her wealth of color knowledge ensures that your blondes and corrections will turn out remarkable with the strength of your hair maintained.

Away from the salon you will find Gillian and her kids exploring all corners of our world where the beach, surf and sand all come together, or if staying close to home, her great love of the outdoors will ensure she is ripping around on a dirt bike, fishing
and camping with the family.

Gillian’s Cabello Hair Goal: With your final result she will leave you feeling in control of your hair and with an abundance of knowledge to ensure your home result is as great as when you left our salon.

Amy

Amy started her career as a Hairstylist in 2006 and was born and raised on Vancouver Island's peninsula. She's spent most of her career in the Victoria area, aside from 5 years in Alberta.

Amy recently returned to work from maternity leave and joined the Cabello family. She is excited to be back behind the chair, creating beautiful hair again! Amy loves doing all types of hair, from beautiful blonds to deep rich browns, and cuts for short and long hair too. Amy loves to keep up with current hair trends through ongoing education.

Natalie

Natalie is new to Vancouver Island. She recently relocated from central Alberta. Natalie is a senior stylist who has been in the hair industry for 25 years. She is passionate about colouring and cutting. Natalie's experience and artistic eye give her confidence in her work. From a soft natural look to a bold statement, Natalie sees every client's transformation as exciting. Having naturally curly hair gives her an appreciation and understanding of cutting and styling curls. In addition to being creative, Natalie also enjoys getting to know her clients. Her soft-spoken nature makes her a great listener and enables her to truly understand her clients' needs.

Away from the salon, Natalie loves life's simple things, including gardening, hiking, cooking, and spending time with family.
